These photos are only 33 days apart last spring.

Days are getting longer the weather is getting warmer and the signs of Spring are popping up around us. You might already be thinking about planting a garden or perhaps updating your outdoor space to better enjoy it this year. Click HERE for tips to starting your seedlings or click HERE to learn more about landscaping options.

Looking for some ready to go options visit the store and check these out. Hey if it’s good enough for Oprah, it’s good enough for us. These Modern Sprout Jar Kits made her favorite things list in 2015.

We’re working on our outdoor space this spring too. Looking forward to a fresh crop of apples on the newly planted Espalier trees in back as well as a full season of the butterfly garden out front.
In an effort to keep our customers educated we are starting a “Home + Garden + Art Discussion Series” where we will have speakers come in a talk about the topics that are hot right now such as Organic Gardening, Bee Keeping and Keeping Chickens.
We would love to hear from you if you have a talent or topic to share or if you would like to see a topic covered.  Share your info HERE.

Cabin Fever

FullSizeRender 11.jpgCabin Fever, we’ve got the cure!

We’ve been pretty lucky with the weather this winter, but it’s still easy to find yourself going a bit stir crazy at this time of year.

In order to keep our sanity during these cold gray days we’ve been kicking up the jams and restyling the shoppe. We added new displays to showcase some fresh vendors.

New vendors arriving daily include: Motor City Brick, Detroit Coaster Company, Alchemy Goods – wallets, purses, messenger bags and more made from recycled bike tire tubes, and Detroit Manufacturing T-Shirts.  Check out the additions to our apothecary line up – Change Soap and Duke Cannon Soap. Also, look for the spring collection from Cellar Door Soap arriving soon.

Stop by the shoppe for a break from the mundane and see what’s new. If you still need some help getting over the hump this winter try these fun tips to beat Cabin Fever from Parade.com by clicking here!

Our team is gearing up for an exciting spring calendar of classes and events!

Fresh Starts

FullSizeRender 7January is a time for fresh starts and as we ring in the New Year. Heritage Oaks is excited to bring you a fresh new calendar of #EventsInTheBarn as well as new products featuring more Michigan crafted items.

In order for all that to happen we are spending January organizing and restyling the shoppe to make your shopping experience even better than before.  Deciding what stays, what goes and what new product to carry can be challenging and exciting!

As we organize and update our shoppe we thought you would like some pointers for a fresh start at home. If you like a good check list you’ll love this one from Peter Walsh, the guru of organization! Check out his “31 Days To Get Organized Challenge”.
